Unified Integrated Information System and Automation of Settlement Processes
 

Vodafone Ukraine is a Vodafone partner Group plc, one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, that operates in 26 countries and has partnership agreements with operators from 49 countries. The company provides a wide range of services, including data transfer through the latest technologies, messaging, mobile voice communications, fixed Internet and mobile television. The company needed a unified integrated information system that would optimize the process of operational and strategic planning and modeling.

The project was very ambitious and complex. In the framework of the system of planning and management of enterprise resources (SAP ERP) the following business processes have been implemented and automated: investment project management on the basis of the modules IM ‘Investment Management’ and PS ‘Project Management System’; cash flow management on the basis of TR-CM ‘Cash Management’ and CFM-LP ‘Liquidity Planner’ modules; budget execution control based on the FIFM module ‘Budget Management’; interface with the budget process automation system via the SAP BW ‘Business Warehouse’ system; electronic document management of key business processes (DFS); materials management (MM); human capital management (HCM); automation of mutual settlements with telecom operators (SAP BW), business process support.

An important role is assigned to integrated planning (transfer of the OPEX budget to SAP, budgeting of CAPEX, purchases within the budget, cash flows). A unified integrated system for managing HR processes was also created. As an additional option, the integration of SAP with job search sites and personnel was further developed.

 

Project results:
 

  • Implemented automation, integration and information support of the planning, accounting, control, cost analysis, cash flow, investment and operating results, management of electronic documents of key business processes and personnel management.
     

  • Realized well-timed and uninterrupted provision of necessary resources to optimize the workflow, improve the completeness and quality of the processed information.
     

  • Temporary delays in business processes were eliminated, control over the transparency of the activities of the company and its departments was strengthened.
     

  • Unique functions were implemented to automate the processes of recruitment, career management, personnel appraisal, bonuses, budgeting, personnel training, self-service for managers and employees.
     

  • Created a single information space, the integration of processes, data, participants with the achievement of the highest efficiency.
     

  • The quality of work with the system has been improved. The active use of analytical functions allowed the ability to make more effective decisions and provide the business with complete and reliable information both at the local level and for the needs of the central office.

 

Implementation of SAP ERP, SAP HCM and SAP BW covered all structural divisions of the company: branches located throughout Ukraine, as well as all directorates of the Head Office. Expanding the functionality of SAP ERP contributed to the transition to the classic distribution of functions between accounting, treasury, logistics, procurement and investment departments. Employees gained access to the operations and information they need in accordance with their official duties, and most importantly, the ability to work with the system within specific business processes and to take advantage of a single integrated SAP ERP solution.
